We implement industry leading chiropractic techniques to provide you with advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments. The high-quality care you receive with us is safe, comfortable, and effective. It’s important to us to utilize the most advanced techniques and practices. Dr. Nels Nelsen has many years of experience training and believes in helping his patients find the relief they need from back pain, neck, pain, and even headaches.
Natural remedies are the solution.
Back pain and neck pain are serious problems that, oftentimes, can be corrected with professional help. At Nelsen Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression, we believe using natural treatment, whenever possible is the best way to resolve chronic issues. Chiropractic care can increase circulation throughout the body, releasing muscle tension, strengthening tendons, and improving overall health.
More than just working on your spine.
If you live in the Goldsboro/Wayne County area and are suffering from chronic or recurring neck, back, or leg pain, we can help you achieve true health. Regain your life and live pain-free. To schedule an appointment, call us today.
In addition to your skeletal misalignment, your pain may also be the result of weak muscles and connective tissue that’s out of place. If your muscles are not used properly, it will result in injury over time. We teach each one of our patients how to correctly use exercise to stretch their body, correcting irregularities that cause pain. Our goal is to show you what exercises you can do in your own home, improving the effectiveness of your chiropractic plan. With our corrective exercises, you can feel good while enhancing your balance and health at the same time.
It is important to understand that often times where the pain presents is not the area that needs to be treated. The pain may be due to that area compensating and being over-worked from another area not pulling its weight. Our rehabilitation program includes strength, flexibility and agility training as well as training focused on coordination of body parts and motion to prepare the individual to return to full participation.
Electrotherapy is an alternative pain management treatment option that involves the use of mild electromagnetic pulses to provide relief for the patient. This treatment option can dull pain, repair tissue, strengthen muscles, and even improve your blood circulation.
You may be asking yourself, what does nutrition have to do with chiropractic care? At Nelsen Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression, our goal is to help you achieve total health and balance in your body; part of reaching that goal is understanding that what you eat affects you. Making healthy choices is not always easy, but by understanding how to make the change, we believe that you can reach optimal health.
If you are constantly trying to find that miracle food, vitamin, mineral, or herb but you are still not sure you are improving your health, you need us. Our approach to nutritional healthcare is based on truly being healthy and feeling well. This approach to wellness is reinforced by our mission to set the standard of objectivity to nutritional counseling.
When you hear nutrition, you may think food. While food does affect your system, we believe that looking at your blood values is much more insightful for your overall health. Using blood tests, Dr. Nelsen is able to properly track the rate that a patient is progressing towards more serious illnesses such as cancer, liver, and heart disease, as well as show us what vitamins you need to live the best life possible.
Blood work often can help keep a patient aware of their health, allowing Dr. Nelsen to see problem areas and carefully differentiate between major and the minor conditions. Stop guessing what you need, and let us tell you.
Besides taking a blood sample, we also offer specialized testing that includes urinalysis, tissue food allergy, mineral analysis, and male/female hormone panels for specific cases.
Many people come to us because of specific problem or pain. While we do address your concerns and conditions with chiropractic care, we also find that it is helpful to teach you how to achieve a healthier lifestyle as well. Through ‘coaching’ you will learn what activities to avoid to prevent irritating your condition, and tips to help you stick to your plan. Our goal is to help you achieve a happy, fulfilling, healthy life; lifestyle advice can help you do just that.
Custom Orthotics - Foot Levelers
Custom foot orthotics are designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look similar to insoles, but are biomedical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot while you walk. We understand that everyone is different, which is why custom foot orthotics are made just for you.
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain and to promote overall health and wellness.
Class IV Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and help accelerate your healing process. Laser treatment can be used on people suffering from acute and chronic conditions in order to eliminate pain and swelling, increase functionality, and reduce spasms.
One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.
Ultrasound therapy is a chiropractic treatment used to help reduce muscle pain and increase range of motion. By using sound waves, we are able to stimulate deep inside the tissue. This minimizes stiffness, swelling, and pain while also promoting circulation, and pain-free movement.
Children encounter many physical stresses in their life that you may not realize. These stresses can cause your child’s spine to have issues in growth and development.
The first thing that we will do when you see us is take a thorough history of your child’s health. You are able to explain to us any complaints that you or your child may have. We will then do a complete physical examination of your child’s spine. We want to ensure that all areas are working and functioning correctly.
Pre/post Natal Chiropractic
Here at Nelsen Chiropractic, we offer a conservative approach to treating pregnant women. Our prenatal care is gentle and safe. We aim to alleviate the stress and strains of pregnancy while improving comfort for both the mother and baby. We understand the physical changes that come with pregnancy, and we offer relief without using any drugs.
DTS spinal decompression is a non-surgical method of treatment that many people prefer because there’s no recovery necessary. You can expect to be positioned on a table and fitted with two harnesses, lying either face down or up. By gently stretching the vertebra, we are able to unload pressure from your spine providing relief from pain.
This computerized traction based procedure works by using negative pressure with your damaged disks. When this negative pressure is created, disc material that has been herniated or is protruding can be pulled back into its normal position, allowing healing to occur.
